PCS Road Trip, Part 1

Ahh, there's nothing like starting up a cross country drive (later than scheduled) with a toddler, two kittens, and a semi-pissed off husband.  At least I remembered to pack plenty of snacks!

(Texas hill country, as seen from my truck.  And that's my garter from our wedding on the rearview mirror, :D  )

(More Tejas hills.  Beautiful)

(And the hills give way to plains...)

(...and cotton fields.)

(My kitties took up permanent residence in my lap.)

(Thank GOD for DVD players!)

(Boy, I sure look thrilled don't I?)

(I guess my hubby doesn't appreciate my photography.  I can't imagine why...)

I love the pic of your honey!!! Classic!!

Before the wonderful world of DVD players, my parents would always play their collection of The Beach Boys on TAPE!! I still know all the words ;o) Gotta love the cross country moving trips!!

I swear this looks like every 18 hour road trip I had to make from Missouri back home to South Carolina...right down to the semi-pissed off husband.

LOL Wow. How nice. Your daughter is gorgeous...and you, seriously? Did you Do your hair for this trip? You look great for a car ride...I won't ever post what I look like in the car!

Thanks T baby! I actually just took my hair out of it's customary braid. I thank eyeliner and my Italian genes. But I needed that, seriously!

Yes, my sweet hubby is a classic. I think I'll keep him.

Hello from SITS! My husband doesn't often appreciate my photography either...

What was your husband pissed off about?

Visiting from SITS....

Your daughter is beautiful -- so many small children are fair-haired and fair-skinned, the darker ones like your daughter and my unbelievably cute grandson, Phinn, really stand out among the pre-school crowd.

Love your blog and your converse!

Hello SITS ladies, and thanks for stopping by!

Karen, what you can't see from that picture is that my husband is desperately trying to smother a laugh :) Us Marines have a strange sense of humor.

Jeanne, I stopped by your blog and your grandbaby is adorable! Well, they're ALL adorable but Phinn especially. I can thank the Italian genes for the dark good looks.

And I like my Converse too Mrs Stesha! Unfortunately, Denver is too cold this time of year to wear them outside, resulting in massive pouting from moi! I skipped on over to your blog too and all I have to say is that your babies are all SO FREAKIN CUTE!!! I just wanna scoop em all up and hug em, LOL!!

I made a similar trip once. Through the northern route:

Indiana = empty
Illinois = corn
Iowa = corn
South Dakota = Bikers
Wyoming = nothing
Montana = nothing + 1 fer-real antelope
Idaho = straight down for 40 miles
Washington = more empty space

Sheesh was I glad to get back to the mountains and to Seattle finally after all that empty.
